Exfoliating Scalp Treatment

Does dry, course and thinning hair urge you to press the panic button. Well, here is why an exfoliating scalp treatment is demanded to nourish your hair from root to tip…
Beautiful, lustrous, thick and bouncy… have these terms eluded themselves to describe your hair? If this is precisely the tragedy you endure, make way for a strategy that will add all those adjectives back to your hair description. There are times when we hear people say that their hair is no more what it used to be. It has lost its to-die-for luster, enviable thickness and the oh-so-gorgeous sheen. It is at this juncture that we start to look out for treatments that could get that lost glory back. We would want that our hair stays committed to the scalp and avoids romancing the hair brush or the shower stall drains. Exfoliating scalp treatments could serve to be the saving grace to restore your hair.
Why is Exfoliating the Scalp Necessary
I am sure you are familiar with the term exfoliation. For all those who believe in low maintenance regimens, may have at least come across this beauty nomenclature in magazines devoted to skin and scalp care. Well, exfoliation serves to be the corner stone of a beauty or skin care regimen. The act of exfoliating the skin is to pluck out the dead skin cells that block the growth of rejuvenated skin cells making the skin look dull and lifeless. Skin that does not follow exfoliation tactics, is sure to suffer from blackheads, whiteheads, acne or pustules. The scalp also needs exfoliation. The scalp has sebaceous glands that secrete sebum which gives luster and moisture to the surface of the scalp. However, as age progresses, the scalp cells gradually lose the secretion of sebum, which results in dry and rough hair follicles. When the hair follicles become weak, the result is thinning of hair. Exfoliating the scalp requires you to concentrate on concocting hair potions that are predominantly nature-based which do not affect the nutrition levels of the hair. Products that contain dihydrotestosterone; also known as DHT, are capable of creating debris, thereby suffocating the hair follicles. When the hair follicles are interrupted from conducting their function of providing moisture to the hair, it is the hair quality that endures a beating. DHT obstructs the nutrient and oxygen supply which leads to the hair follicle closing and dying. What the act of exfoliation does is to evict the buildup thereby maintaining optimum scalp health.
Exfoliating Scalp Treatment
Given in this section of the article, are the various exfoliating scalp treatments. With the treatment methods, this section of the article is also equipped with techniques of how to exfoliate the scalp. Read on to scoop out the information that you have been looking for.
 Exfoliating Treatment #1
All you need to do in this treatment method is to dilute two tablespoons of brown sugar with jojoba oil coupled with a few drops of tea tree oil. This is a scalp scrub that can be massaged onto the scalp gently. Make sure that your massage strokes are circular in motion, concentrating on the temples and the nape area. Keep it on for a few minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo and lukewarm water. When you are done with rinsing of the hair, expose your hair upside down to a cold water rinse. This will close the hair follicles and will keep the scalp off dead cells and buildup.
 Exfoliating Treatment #2
Beat an egg and add olive oil. Make sure that you add olive oil with the help of a dropper. Add a teaspoon of white vinegar and fenugreek seeds (powdered) and blend together. When you are done, apply this mixture on the scalp with circular movements with your fingers and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water by using a mild shampoo.
 Exfoliating Treatment #3
Vinegar works wonders. After you are done washing your hair thoroughly, pour a cup of apple cider vinegar. Massage onto the scalp with wet fingertips. Always remember, only use your fingertips and not your nails to scrub off the dead cells on the scalp. Nails can damage the surface of the scalp by aggravating the scalp more than required, thus inviting the scalp to get oily and sticky. This will in turn activate the sebaceous glands making the scalp all the more oily.
 Exfoliating Treatment #4
Drops of fresh lemon juice mixed in a bowl of curd should be applied on the scalp. This exfoliating scalp treatment can be performed once a month. You may leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse it with cool water. Use a mild shampoo that has jojoba extracts and tea tree oil extracts.
Other exfoliating scalp treatments could be to massage the scalp with coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil. After the massage, one may soak a towel in hot water, hold it from its two ends and squeeze out extra water from the towel. Place the hot towel on your scalp without burning your skin. Repeat the process 4 to 5 times. Wash off your hair normally with a nature based or mild shampoo.
Hopefully, these exfoliating scalp treatments may help you in getting back your lost glory, making them shine with health and bounce with life.
